“We were Tibetan refugees and we moved to Darjeeling. My father was in the army and my mother was working at Centre Tibetan Administration. We came to Bengaluru by 2012 as I was working in an airline company. Though I came here to Bengaluru, I still miss my childhood days that I spent in Kurseong, Darjeeling. My father expired a year ago, I was very close to him and I really miss him a lot and his advice to me was to never give up with life, no matter what the situation is.”

“We love the weather here at Bengaluru and we started Snow Lion Tibet Kitchen in 2015 and it is our family business. The best thing about Snow Lion is the traditional food and the homely atmosphere. I cook some of the best Thukpas around and my mother cooks the best Logo Momos at home.”

“Happiness to me is my family around me. My brother is one of the biggest support systems that I can ever have. I went to Mysuru Dasara with him last year and that is a very happy memory I share with him. I wish I never lost my father. He had a sense of calmness in him, he was jovial and a huge follower of His Holiness Dalai Lama. We have been here since 6 years and we have never faced racism or stereotyped questions against us. I am Chungdak Lhamo.”
